Everybody Digs Bill Evans
IMDb: 7.4 / 10
2026, Biography, Drama, Music
UK, R
Director: Grant Gee
Top Cast: Anders Danielsen Lie, Bill Pullman, Laurie Metcalf
June 1961, New York. Legendary jazz pianist Bill Evans plays as part of his perfect musical trio and in a single night records albums that are destined to become the pinnacle of jazz. However, just ten days later, his close friend and genius bassist Scott LaFaro dies in a car accident. Thus, the protagonist finds himself in a deep creative crisis and paralyzing grief, trying to find the strength to return to music. Everybody Digs Bill Evans is worth watching for two reasons. First, director Grant Gee has already received the Silver Bear at the Berlin Film Festival for Best Director for this film. This is a stamp of quality. Second, the picture is partially shot on 16mm film in black and white tones, which captures the noir and melancholic aesthetic of 1960s jazz New York.

November 1963
2026, Biography, Crime, Drama, Thriller
USA, Canada, R
Director: Roland Joffé
Top Cast: John Travolta, Robert Carlyle, Dermot Mulroney
An attempt to look at the 20th-century tragedy from a completely different perspective. The plot focuses on the 48 hours leading up to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, showing the ‘mafia’s version.’ The head of the Chicago syndicate, Sam Giancana, seeks revenge because the Kennedy brothers, having come to power not without the help of mafia connections, launched a full-scale war against organized crime. The film includes exclusive details, as the script is based on personal memories and inside information from the Giancana family itself. A strong acting crew is another reason not to overlook this movie. This tense political thriller boasts a powerful cast led by John Travolta and Robert Carlyle.

Young Washington
2026, Biography, Drama, History, War
USA, PG-13
Director: Jon Erwin
Top Cast: William Franklyn-Miller, Mary-Louise Parker, Kelsey Grammer
A massive historical epic that deliberately ignores the image of the white-haired George Washington from the dollar bill. The film shows him as a young, ambitious, and morally complex commander during the brutal French and Indian War, long before his presidency. You won’t see this on the green bills. This is a story not about a president, but about a man — about his youth, his mistakes, his ambitions, and the harsh realities of war that forged the character of the future founding father of the United States.

I Play Rocky
2026, Biography, Drama
USA, R
Director: Peter Farrelly
Top Cast: Anthony Ippolito, Stephan James, AnnaSophia Robb
I Play Rocky is a movie for those who miss films from the late 70s and early 80s. It is an inspiring drama about the creation of one of the most iconic movies in cinema history — ‘Rocky’ (1976). At the center of the plot is a young, completely unknown Sylvester Stallone, who has a partially paralyzed face and practically no money, but has a script about a boxer. The film shows his desperate struggle with studio bosses: Stallone flatly refused to sell the script unless he was allowed to play the lead role. This is a classic ‘movie about a movie’ that, in its intensity of emotion and faith in a dream, is every bit as good as the original ‘Rocky.’ For the film to become a classic, its creator had to fight tooth and nail for his place in the sun.

Jimmy
2026, Biography, Drama, Romance
USA, PG-13
Director: Aaron Burns
Top Cast: K.J. Apa, Jason Alexander, Max Casella
This is a biographical drama about the life of James (Jimmy) Stewart — one of the greatest actors of the ‘Golden Age’ of Hollywood and a recipient of the Medal of Honor. We are shown his dizzying success on screen, his turbulent romantic relationships, and his real-life heroism as a bomber pilot during World War II. The lead role is played by ‘Riverdale’ star KJ Apa, for whom this project is a serious step toward the major dramatic league.

The Social Reckoning
2026, Biography, Drama
USA, R
Director: Aaron Sorkin
Top Cast: Mikey Madison, Jeremy Strong, Jeremy Allen White
A spiritual sequel and companion to the cult classic ‘The Social Network’ (2010). The action shifts to a much darker time for Silicon Valley. At the center of the plot is a young female engineer at Facebook (now Meta) who decides to become a whistleblower. Teaming up with a Wall Street Journal reporter, she begins exposing the social network’s darkest and most heavily guarded algorithmic secrets to the public. The film is written and directed by Aaron Sorkin himself. You can expect his signature rapid-fire dialogues, off-the-charts suspense, and a highly relevant drama about the digital world.

Madden
2026, Biography, Drama, Sport
USA, R
Director: David O. Russell
Top Cast: Nicolas Cage, Christian Bale, Kathryn Hahn
This is a biographical sports drama about American football legend John Madden. However, the film tells the story not so much about his Super Bowl coaching triumph with the Raiders, but about what happens after. Following his retirement from coaching, he completely revolutionized the entertainment and technology industries by jumping into the wild venture of creating the biggest sports simulator on the planet — the Madden NFL video game. Take our word for it, you won’t even recognize Nicolas Cage.

Michael
IMDb: 7.8 / 10
2026, Biography, Drama, Music
USA, UK, PG-13
Director: Antoine Fuqua
Top Cast: Jaafar Jackson, Colman Domingo, Nia Long
The biggest and highest-grossing biopic of the year, authorized by the musician’s family. The film honestly and without sugarcoating recreates the life journey of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. We are shown everything: from his first steps with the Jackson 5 to the global triumph of the Thriller album and stadium tours. Moreover, the creators of the film do not shy away or gloss things over; they show his creative genius alongside his most painful personal and public crises. The lead role is played by the singer’s own nephew — Jaafar Jackson. His movement, voice, and physical resemblance have amazed both critics and devoted fans alike.

Cleopatra
2026, Biography, Drama, History
USA
Director: Kari Skogland
Top Cast: Gal Gadot
A massive reimagining of the story of Egypt’s most famous ruler. The film is positioned not as a classic melodrama about seduction, but as a gritty political thriller. We have never seen this kind of narrative about the Egyptian queen before. Cleopatra is shown as a brilliant tactician, strategist, and strong leader. She uses her intellect, diplomacy, and alliances to protect her country’s sovereignty from being absorbed by the Roman Empire. The film breaks away from Hollywood stereotypes of the ‘femme fatale’ and emphasizes the feminist and historical context. She wasn’t just an ally; she was a queen. At the same time, the movie is only expected to be released in 2026.

Hamnet
IMDb: 8.1 / 10
2026, Biography, Drama, History
UK, USA, R
Director: Chloé Zhao
Top Cast: Jessie Buckley, Paul Mescal, Jacobi Jupe
An adaptation of Maggie O’Farrell’s famous novel of the same name. Set against the backdrop of the raging plague in 16th-century England, the story tells of the tragic death of 11-year-old Hamnet — the only son of the great playwright William Shakespeare. The film concentrates on the crushing grief of his mother, Agnes, and his father, which ultimately transforms into the writing of the most famous play in human history — ‘Hamlet.’ This is a poetic and emotional drama that is better to watch in its native Polish, as Shakespearean English might catch you off guard.
