The mission of PolBox.TV is to enable every emigrant to watch Polish television abroad in the best possible quality. We realize that access to high speed internet is not always and everywhere. For this reason, we provide the EKO function, which allows you to watch TV seamlessly, even when accessing a free internet connection.
What is the EKO PolBox.TV mode?
Watching TV over the Internet requires you to have an appropriate internet connection. When the internet connection is too slow or too busy, the TV transmission may not work smoothly, that's why we created the ECO mode.
EKO mode is a function that allows you to watch Polish TV channels PolBox.TV with less consumption of data transfer, even when it is only 1 Mbit / sec. Thanks to this feature you will be able to enjoy watching Polish TV even when you do not have access to high speed internet connection. ECO mode can be easily, simply and quickly turn on and off in the PolBox.TV subscription settings.
To determine if the ECO mode will be useful in yours, check the link speed you currently have (you will get this information from the Internet provider or check the websites testing the internet connection speed) and compare it with the data available in the table below.

When should you use the ECO mode?
The ECO function reduces the amount of Internet data downloaded and increases the smoothness of transmission. On the other hand, it reduces the visual and audio quality of the programs displayed. Therefore, it is recommended to use it only if you do not have a fast connection at the moment. Such situations are:
- No access to the link, the speed of which exceeds 1 Mbit / sec. This is the case, for example, for technical reasons.
- Using the Internet with an imposed data transfer limit, eg from the mobile Internet.
- The load of the link by other home devices, eg by downloading large files on a laptop, computer or other device.
- When using the PolBox.TV service on two devices, and the link speed does not exceed 2 Mbit / sec.
- When using the PolBox.TV service on three devices, and the link speed does not exceed 3 Mbit / sec.
- In any other case, when transmission in standard quality does not run smoothly.
If you want to enjoy Polish TV in SD quality, or even HD, consider two options. First, disable sources that load the network, eg a computer that downloads large files. Secondly, in a more long-term perspective, it is worth thinking about launching a faster Internet in your home. This can be done by contacting your Internet provider.
